Choke – urban creation is a young, German based startup which seeks to combine everyday products with artful designs from around the globe. In 2011 three friends from university got together, sharing a common passion for the work of street Artists based in and outside of Germany's borders. Our goal is to bring more colour to the urban scenery, displaying creativity where you least expect it. Furthermore, Choke's unique products give a voice to political statements and life depictions, which might otherwise go unheard.

The idea for our first product line, Choke – Umbrellas, was born on the rainy streets of Glasgow, Scotland. When observing the monotony of a modern metropolis on a rainy day, one inevitably misses the presence of a summery blaze of colour. We decided that we should give people the chance to show their love for colour and art even if confronted with the stormiest of weather. With our passion for the work of street artists and their beautiful designs at the forefront of our minds, our product quickly took shape.

At Choke – urban creation, we believe in fusing world class designs with quality products, creating something that thus far has not existed. We aim to create a platform for artists from different countries to promote creative thinking and unconventional ideas. The custom style of the product, ranging from the motivation to the company logo, is only confined to the imagination of the artists. So far, we have cooperated with artists based in Buenos Aires, Tehran and New York. Moreover, we constantly seek to expand our network and establish international cooperation between professional artists.
